BeamCue / Use cases

For teams helping new customers get started

Help a new customer finish their first task.

Give people a short path from a new account to a useful result. Show the actual product screens, explain each decision and keep the guide beside the place where customers need it.

What to prepare

Choose one first-use goal, such as creating a project or inviting a teammate. Prepare a demonstration account, safe sample data and a short explanation of what success looks like.

From source to a finished guide

  1. Capture the first-use journey

Use the Chrome extension or BeamCue Desktop to record the screens a new customer needs. Keep the guide focused on one task rather than every feature.

  2. Make the next action clear

In Studio, edit the scene order, captions and optional narration. Explain what to click, why it matters and how to recognize the result.

  3. Put the guide where customers start

Publish a story link for your welcome message or embed it in your help center. Check the guide after product changes and republish updated scenes to the same address.

Edit, share and use it again

Readers can step through a shared story themselves, or watch an exported video. Password-protected sharing is available for a limited audience. Review screenshots and sharing settings before sending the guide to customers.

Questions before you start

Does this control the customer's live app?

No. A BeamCue story shows captured scenes and explanations. Customers follow the guide while using their own account; it is not an overlay inside their live product.

Can I embed it in our help center?

Yes. Use the published story's embed option when your help-center platform accepts iframe embeds. You can also share a direct link or a downloaded video.

Can I update the guide without changing the link?

Yes. Edit the project and republish it to update the existing shared link. Videos already downloaded by customers do not update automatically.
