BeamCue / Use cases

For product and support teams

Show how it works, one clear step at a time.

Turn a repeated support answer into a tutorial people can follow. Record the real workflow, explain the important clicks and keep the guide current as your product changes.

What to prepare

Prepare one task to demonstrate, a test account and a clean browser tab or app window. Remove personal details from the screen before recording. Install the Chrome extension for browser workflows or BeamCue Desktop for app windows.

From source to a finished guide

  1. Record a real task

Download the recorder and follow its setup instructions. Capture the steps from the starting screen to the result, using sample data that is safe to share.

  2. Explain each scene

Open the project in Studio. Check the captured screens and click targets, then edit the captions, timing and optional narration to explain what the viewer should do.

  3. Share and maintain the tutorial

Publish a link, embed the story in a help page or export a video. When a screen changes, replace or edit the affected scenes and republish the same link.

Edit, share and use it again

A shared story lets viewers move through scenes at their own pace. A downloaded video works in channels that need a file. Updates appear on the shared link after republishing; downloaded videos need to be exported and distributed again.

Questions before you start

Can I record desktop apps?

Use BeamCue Desktop on the supported Windows and macOS versions. The Chrome extension records browser tabs. See Download for the current system requirements.

Do I need to record the whole tutorial again?

You can edit text, timing and narration, and replace the scenes that changed. Capture a new screen when the existing image no longer matches your product.

Will recording hide private information?

Prepare safe test data and inspect every captured screen before publishing. Sensitive input handling does not remove private information already visible elsewhere on a screen.
